Magazine Industry – Case Study

IPC Media is one of the UK’s leading consumer magazine and digital publishers. It publishes 80 magazines and sells over 350 million copies each year.

IPC TIMELINE 


1963 - International Publishing Company was formed.

1968 - IPC bought the Daily Mirror and became the IPC-Mirror Group.

1970 - Reed International bought the company and separated it into two groups, IPC for magazines and Mirror Group Newspapers, for newspapers.

1998 - Cinven (investors) bought IPC and renamed it IPC Media in 2000.

2001 - Cinven sold IPC to Time Inc., the magazine publishing division of Time Warner.
